Climate Change Awareness Sculpture At The 2017 Venice Biennale

Sculpture by Artist Lorenzo Quinn

Support is a monumental sculpture: a pair of gigantic hands rising from the water to support the sides of the Ca’ Sagredo Hotel in Venice. It is a visual statement of the impact of climate change and rising sea levels on the historic city.

I think this sculpture brings to mind another global concern, especially relevant for Italians: migrants drowning to death on their way to the European shores.

Are sculptural-artworks-as-political-campaigns making a comeback via global media?
